Adding Engravings to the Zine holder

Here I show the process of adding art for engraving to the svg file
1) importing a picture (here shown importing WatcherDMs Sage into the svg file in Inkscape, a free vector graphics program).
2) Select "trace Bitmap" from the context menu (right click) on the imported art
3) Change the threshold settings to get the art as accurate as possible
4) Depending on the art different settings can be useful, be sure to look at the other "Detection modes"
5) Select "apply" and you will have a vector version of the art, you can delete the original in the vector program
6) Change the fill in "stroke and fill"for your new vector object to be any color (I use green, but as long as it is a visible color it will work, you will need to use black for cust, so dont use that.)
7) Set the color of the stroke in "stroke and fill"for your new vector object to be "no paint" by clicking on the "X"
8) You will now have a detailed vector image to place where you want on your Zine holder!
9) Occasionally a highly detailed graphic will be too difficult for the printer to replicate and it will fail or issue a warning. If that happens you will need to "simplify" the paths of the vector object you created. This option is under the "Path" menu.
It will reduce detail, but make the object more efficient (a smaller file size and less work for the laser.
Good luck!
