Laser Cut Zine Holder
A downloadable game
If you are like me you have too many Zines...
Like overflowing on your shelves and counters...
This is an svg designed for a laser cutter (like a glowforge) that will make a simple holder that can be used to store ~15-40 Zines (depending on thickness).
I made this zine-sized magazine holder based on some parametric designs for a full sized magazine holder.
Be careful when cutting the file as it needs to be as close to full size as possible to fit standard 1/2 letter & A5 Zines. You can do it on 2 pieces pretty easily, but one if you squeeze everything and focus the laser well.
I dont own a Glowforge, but I print mine at the library and it costs ~ $4 in material (basswood 1/8 in). My library even gives me monthly credit, so I get one free print a month (I am up to 7 Zine boxes...). Check out your library, or local tech shop/hub/makerspace to see what a few cuts cost.
I have included an example and a quick tutorial (in a devlog) for how to add an engraving to the front and back of the box. This makes the zines look great on the shelf and makes for easy organization also.
I have included a Public domain example and a CCBY example of art from WatcherDM. The process can be repeated for any art you have or make.
